RFA Sherry Hour

You are cordially invited to the fifth and final Sherry Hour of the academic year sponsored by the RFA.  It will be held from 3:00 pm–4:45 pm, Friday, April 27, 2012, in the Fisher Museum of Art.  (Note that the date is a change from the original date of April 13, a change occasioned by the fact that the annual student art show would not yet be available by the original date.)

Our guest speaker and docent is Selma Holo, who will speak to us on "Art Today/Artists Now/USC at the Front Lines: A Talk and Tour by USC Fisher Museum of Art Director Selma Holo."  In addition to directing the Fisher Museum, Dr. Holo is a professor in the Department of Art History at USC.  She received her Ph.D. in Spanish art from U.C. Santa Barbara in 1981 and is the author of three books, the latest of which is "Beyond the Turnstyle: Making the Case for Museums and Sustainable Values," written with Mari-Tere Alvarez of the Getty Museum.  (Alvarez received her Ph.D. in Art History at USC with Dr. Holo as her adviser.)

R.S.V.P. to ecrsvp@usc.edu or (213) 740-7122, no later than Monday, April 23, 2012.

There is no charge for this event.  Three kinds of sherry, sparkling cider, water, and light refreshments will be served.  Should you need additional details, please contact Jack Crossley at crossley@usc.edu.

Parking: It is recommended that you park in Parking Structure A (with elevator), which is located on McClintock Avenue just north of the Gerontology Center.  Enter the campus through Gate 1 off Exposition Boulevard at Watt Way and turn left to reach McClintock.  Courtesy parking is available for retirees with a Gold Card; all others, $8.00.

Directions to Fisher Museum from Parking Structure A (PSA): From the southeast corner of PSA, cross McClintock to Bloom Walk.  Walk two blocks east to Harris Hall, which is located on your right just after Watt Hall and just before Mudd Hall.  Fisher Museum is within Harris Hall.

In addition to the Sherry Hour, you may be interested in a Friday evening dance concert called "Urban Tales" in the Bing Theatre put on by the USC School of Theater.  Acclaimed European choreographer Nikos Lagousakos directs the USC Repertory Dance Company in an evening of dance with an international flair.  Call the USC Ticket Office at (213) 740-2620 for prices and starting time.
